Barefoot summer - socks winter. Used to go barefoot night & day until the stores started refusing service. Work doesn't count.

I wear shoes when I absolutely have to, and not a moment more. My shoe-kick-off location is actually closer to the door than my coat-hang-up location, and the door pocket in my car makes a handy flip-flop holder.

So yeah, barefoot in summer, and socked-or-handknitted-slippered in winter.

My sewing machines just don't like shoes. ;)
If it is cold they do let me wear fuzzy footies.

I cannot sew with shoes on. I don't allow anybody to wear shoes in my house. When I go to a class or anyplace to sew the shoes have to come off.

Slippers year round as I am in the basement and the floor is generally pretty cool.

No shoes in the house...I usually have slippers on or just little socks. When I have slippers on, I have to kick the one off to sew LOL

I find I can't sew with shoes on at all, so either socks or bare feet, depending on whether I can feel my toes or not (bare concrete floor in my studio)

Are you sure it is forbidden. I had always been told it was illegal to drive barefoot, I called the State Police and asked. They laughed, said it was not true. I have checked in 3 or 4 different states and all told me it is legal to drive barefoot. You might want to check.
