This is so wonderful! One of my great dreads is the inordinate amount of traffic and cars I see in the world! Another is that small town America has been put on the back burner.

Jodi, can you ride a horse to shop there? Or is it a sprawling metropolis too?

Thank you! Well, there are stop lights around, but only one in my town. We have major highways and many other towns around that are much bigger than mine. And they have many red lights and stop signs. I just happen not to like having to live that way.

Yes! And on top of it I always thought of myself as an Ohio River girl. Born on the Ohio! I always missed that river when I moved away. My daughter, born elsewhere, does not like it here. But I look at city sprawl and how city folk see us as backward, and still rather be in a small place.

Hi Debbie, I am along the Ohio River just across from Wheeling, WV, the original capital of WV. Interstate 70 crosses Ohio into WV at Wheeling. It is an old coal and steel mill area. The hills are beautiful, the building structures could us a can of gas and a match. :D :D :D :D :D

I hope you have a place to buy fabric that isn't to far away.
Not really close by! Joann - maybe 25 minutes away at the mall. We used to have The Piecegoods Shop in downtown Wheeling - 8 miles. Does anybody remember it? Used to love that store! And then there is Ben Franklin - 20 minutes but a small fabric dept.. I am the type that likes to be able to shop within my own town and not have to "commute." Wouldn't it be nice if all of us had a local fabric shop in our own towns. A lot has changed with the world since I was a child. And one of them is that there are too many cars! :D :-D
I have a Ben Franklin & small Fabric/coffee shop within minutes but anything else is as least 25 minutes. So when I make the trip I have a list to make it worth the gas.
Your right fabric shops are common anymore.
If I can I like to go to quilt shows if they're not to far away to check out the fabric & quilts.

Exactly! I used to live in the Wash.DC area. Didn't like the lifestyle. Always on the road having to get someplace that I really did not want to be! My daughter grew up in it and prefers it. It makes me crazy! Columbus is too populated for me too! I don't blame you. Thank you for your welcome.
