Without access to a serger I would zig zag the edges. Works just as well.

Yes, that's what I do. I use the one that has the edge to it. ( hope this makes sense)

Susie Q, I have a brand new Serger in my sewing room but have only used it once. It came unthreaded and I couldn’t figure out the rethreading. Plus it intimidates me

Terri, I just never had a desire for one. If I made a lot of clothes it would be a different story! I'd probably be afraid of one too. LOL

I dont use a serger but my sisters friend's husband had one from his deceased wife he wanted to just give away. He had 2 boxes of new spools of thread, 3 containers of used thread and a serger. We looked it up online and estimated at least $400 for the stuff. He didnt want anything for a truck full of serger stuff but we gave him $100 anyway. My girlfriend was estatic because she makes shirt dresses for African children. Well I got another block done since my brakes on my car went and I am stranded at home until my car service appointment Monday. Hope you like it "cat lady"!

Good Evening Ladies, just got back from camp, but I managed to get two blocks done tonight. One for Sewbizgirl and one for Terriamn. I also got two more cut out and I finally found a house block to make with my stone fabric for Anna Quilts. So I'm moving right along.

Thank you, Lstew! I love that cute construction block. Perfect addition to the quilt. Love Terri's block too. Is that 'Hen and Chicks'? I love the balance it has.
