I just found these blocks while going through my Mom's things after she passed away. I would like to finish her dream. I am really stuck as to how to accomplish this. She has them basted together but I would like to add saching and Borders but do not know what to use. Can anyone give me an idea as to what I should use that wouldn't take the emphases away from the cross stiching? Any help would be appreciated.

Mom's blocks as I found them

Beautiful! I do like the idea of sashing between them, it would frame them all nicely. Maybe a soft solid color that looks nice with the cross stitch blocks. Maybe the green, or lavender. It would give it a vintage look. You may just have to take several blocks to the LQS and lay them on some samples. I was originally thinking a small calico, but that may be too busy...you will just have to go and look for something that you love and that makes those blocks POP! You will find something that strikes your fancy!

How wonderful for you! You will have a constant memory of your Mom to keep you warm! And it will be a treasure that you both worked on!
I would just use pale pastel blenders in any color that is in the cross stitching.

I agree but would only use it for borders. Adding sashing would chop up the blocks IMHO. Quilting among the blocks on the white will be add to the beauty of the blocks and make them flow.

This is beautiful! And such a wonderful memory to have of your Mom! I think green would compliment the quilt! Please post a picture when you are finished, and thanks for sharing!

Beautiful blocks! I agree that simple sashing would really make these flowers pop. Let us know what you decide!
