I am looking for the approximate value of a 1953 Singer Model 66 sewing machine. The serial number begin with AL. Any help would be appreciated. I have a chance to purchase it, in a damaged cabinet, but have no idea of its value.

I paid $20 for mine, but I've just never bonded with it, so it sees virtually no use. Glad I didn't pay more.

What is the price that they are asking? Model 66 is a pretty common model so if the price is too high you might find another one, down the road, that is cheaper and comes in a nice cabinet. Does it have decals, on it?

I haven't seen the machine yet, I will Thursday. A friend just had it given to her, and she wants to sell it. I think she feels it is worth a lot ff money because it is old. But it's not that old. I have the serial number and it was made in 1953. Thanks for your input.

I paid $30 for mine a few years ago and it came in a blond cabinet.

There are lots of 66 models out there...I wouldn't pay much more than $30 for it.

Thank you everyone for the replies. I think I will pass on this one. I don't need it, I just bought a Featherweight, but I think she may need the money.
