I am making another Dresden Plate quilt out of my scraps and here's my delimna. I have looked at tons of pictures of DP's made by board members and most of them have a rather small center circle. mine is not. I am making mine form the pattern in Eleanor Burn's Egg Money Quilts book and her center circle is about twice as big as the ones I've seen on here. Problem is, I can't really make it any smaller so y'all think this will be acceptable?

Why not? It's your quilt, do what you want with it. I like E. Burns and made a bunch of log cabins from her book. I loved them and loved doing them her way.
Remember you're quilting to please yourself not the non existent quilting police.

Yes, it's okay to have a larger circle than usual
    in your dresden plate quilt.

Extend the lines of your pattern towards the center. Either until they meet or it's the size you want (in which case add ¼" seam allowance).

It's quilters choice. It will look great no matter what you decide because it's yours.

The Dresden Plate was the focus of the last two episodes of Sewing with Nancy and they had many different size centers, no matter what size the blades were. I don't think this is one of the "rules" of quilting, so I think yours will be just fine no matter what size they are! Your quilt, your choice!!! Please post pictures when you are all finished with this lovely quilt!

P.S. I also heard that the Quilt Police were banned from this site

It is absolutely acceptable. But if the size of the center circle bothers you, you could make a second, smaller circle of one of your plate fabrics and place it in the center of the large circle.
