I've been asked to donate a quilt to a fundraiser being held in September. I'm not sure if I should make one with fall theme/colors or jump ahead to holiday/Christmas fabric. Which do you think would be more popular? Thanks in advance for your input!

I would go with Christmas. But, that's just my opinion:-)

I'd go with Christmas, I think. That way people can get an early start on their shopping - if they're shopping for themselves (as on an autumn quilt) they'll spend less money.

IMHO: autumn fabric. It can be used longer than a specific holiday.

I would prefer an autumn quilt to use for fall. Many of us have an abundance of Christmas items.

What is the fundraiser for? Who would attend? This would be a big factor in helping me decide. What do most people usually donate?

I always stay away from religious themed quilts for any fund raisers. That way all people can enjoy them and maybe buy a chance or bid.

And yes christmas is a religous theme, so is Easter.

If it is for a fund raiser you want the most ammount of people to participate. I would be much more inclined to buy tickets for a general all purpose quilt rather than one that has a relgious theme and only useful at certain times of the year.

This is a good point.

There are a lot of patterns that can be classed as winter / seasonal without being religious, and you can use colors like icy blue and white with gold and/or silver. There's also the mitten direction, which can be autumn or winter.

Why not consider autumn colors for one side and then holiday colors for the other. This way they would get two for the price of one.
