Here's a collapsible bowl that I made a couple of this afternoon.

I had seen a pattern for a collapsible dog water bowl made out of oilcloth and thought it would be good if it was quilted for a serving bowl.

A 20 x 30 makes a square bowl that is about 10" square when it's all said and done.

It folds flat and can be stored pretty easy. Since it has batting in it, and is sewn down a little, I'm pretty sure it will wash up without too much trouble.

I made one quilted with batting in it and one (no pictures) of one with just very stiff interfacing that stands up real good too.

    Folds pretty flat for storage

Can stack them in a box if made for holidays

Opens up to a nice size bowl

Do you pour food right into it? Or is it mainly for a bread bowl or do you SIT a bowl of food in it?
Sorry I am not getting it. But it is really pretty I like the colors.

I think you could do what ever you wish... chips, popcorn, bread, cookies, plate with sandwiches, etc.

I also think you could set one of the 9 x 9 pans inside it if you wished.

I'm hoping it will wash up easy since it's all fabric and batting.

Just a neat idea to try so I'd have something real different on hand.

The LQS has a fall challenge to make something quilted. They gave you 2 paint strip samples and you could only use the colors on the paint strip...nothing else. I had browns and golds. The winner gets a $50 gift certificate so I wanted something "different". It will be in her shop all of October for voting by other customers.
