I inherited this machine from my MIL. She passed several years ago. My husband believes it is a singer but there is nothing identifying it as one. The label is coming off. I'd appreciate any help I can get. I want to test her out one of these days, as I wasn't emotionally ready earlier.

Sorry it's upside down

I want to say that it is a "Lincoln". I think I saw one on craigslist or Goodwill.com not too long ago. And that probably isn't much help to you!!!

That link came up as a new machine. What were you thinking it was?

It is a 15 clone made in Japan. That is not a bad thing. After the war Japan made thousands of them under different names. Lostin51 says they are better than the Singers.
I have two or three of them they are good machines for straight stitching.

I was studying a similar machine earlier. It appears to be a Japanese clone of a Singer class 15. It seems most of them have the word "Deluxe" or De Lux" in their model #. A few of the articles I read said many were made even better than the Singer they were copying from. The particular one I was studying was a pinkish/purple color which Singer never made back then so I knew it wasn't a Singer.
