There is agreat group on yahoo for vintage japanese sewing machines- they have a lot a photos and history.

It would be the "Occupied Japan" marking that would make me go after it... things were only marked that way for a short time.

I have a question.....did Singer make any sewing machines in Japan? My husband said he saw a Singer machine that had "made in occupied Japan "written on it......He swears it was a Singer brand..
