Default My 70th Birthday Quilt

My DD is wonderful, thoughtful, kind, awesome, considerate and every other great adjective you can think of for a stupendous person. First off, I started receiving birthday cards on Mon. from women I don't know who belong to a local quilting group and some from women at our LQS. When asked if she knew anything about that, she just smiled and said "I cannot divulge that information". My DDs, their families, sis-in-law and nephew took me out for dinner on my birthday. Then last night, at our extended family Christmas party, this is what I was presented with.

She had highjacked my email contacts and written everyone explaining what she wanted to do. If they wished to participate, she would send them fabric for signatures for a quilt for my 70th birthday. I was surprised at how many she received. Several blocks were from people I haven't been in contact with for years.

Blue is my favorite color and I love bright bold colors. The backing is black background with bright multi-colored balloons, streamers and lots of Happy Birthday wishes. She's a relative newbie at FMQing; this was her first freehand FMQing and it looks great!

I can't even express how touched I am by this wonderful gesture from my daughter, family and friends.

What an amazing daughter you have. The quilt looks great. Just think about how much love you will feel every time you cuddle up with your new huggie.
