Smile I am happy, happy, happy

So happy with the way my quilt turned out. Finally I got one right! It is just a crazy quilt and tied at that but the pics don't do it justice. I used I think a half inch batting to make it puffy because of the ties and it is sooo comfy. I like it so well I am going to make a Christmas quilt just like it. I drew the pattern out on an 11 inch square and cut it out and sewed the four pieces together with a bunch of scraps I thought I would never get around to using. Now that is scrappy quilting at its best! lol I trimmed the square down to 10 inches before sewing together, and added the sashing and boarder. The only thing I had to purchase was the black material for the boarder which came from Connecting Threads.
This quilt goes to a friend who traded me an older viking sewing machine but a good one for it and a simpler sewing machine because she doesn't know anything about sewing. The one picture shows it on a queen bed but she has a regular bed so it will be plenty big enough, even hang down some at the sides. When she saw my sister and I putting the blocks together she just jumped up and down and clapped her hands she was so happy with getting this country quilt. It doesn't take much to make some people happy!

oh, I forgot to add I took the pics before I washed it and that in my hubby's cramped bedroom so please excuse the mess, I was so excited with it I couldn't wait. All the lint you see is long gone, freshly washed and waiting for it's recipient.
