this is one of the nicest DJs i've seen and one of the very few that did the original pieced borders with the scalloped edge.

its truly a work of art

Love that quilt, looks complicated though. I'm still a beginner, lol.

I agree this is really beautiful. I love the colors and the scalloped edges.

I would love to do a dj, but in my own colors. Would it look funny not using repros? What is your blog addy Klue?

the lady who did the jane in the link didn't use any repro fabics.

i have no intention of using repro since it just isn't my taste.

i haven't decided on any fabrics yet but i'm leaning towards all red and white maybe with small black sashing.

i like the look of the tiny sashing in her quilt.

i haven't done anything for a blog but i will when i begin the jane and i plan on posting it here to for everyone that way the forum will have a pseudo tute on it.

thanks KLue - the minute I saw this quilt I knew I had to embark on the adventure too. How far away is the dream of the blog and the tutes?

I'm going to start color dreaming and fabric hunting for this one. Probably about 1 yard per color, and perhaps 3-4 for the two main colors? What do you think?

i'll start it after the new year because i have client orders thru the holiday season.

i've decided not to take anymore orders for work until june of 2010. that will give me 6 months vacation from work to focus on me and the projects i'd like to do.

i hope to have all the blocks done within 6 months (crossing fingers)
