    Default Oriental Cranes...quilted by Kevin

This is a customer quilt/wallhanging that Kevin worked on. Beautiful Oriental fabrics that these pics don't do justice for. Lightly custom quilted to let the fabrics shine....larger panel has a window-pane effect. Smaller blocks are stitched in the ditch. Small vines are in the beige sashing with his free-motion "seaweed" in the flower border. Back side shows that design better. Thanks for looking

Beautiful! I've been (struggling) with an oriental quilt for a couple months --- this one gives me 'hope' I am working in the right direction. wish I could find that crane fabric- I've looked & looked without success. this one is wonderful! and the quilting is great too.

Ckcowl, are you looking for the crane panel? Blue Bamboo in Plymouth, Mn has a website and they do carry this panel because I bought a burgandy colored one just last fall. You may have to phone the store to ask because I don't see it on their website. I found mine in an area overflowing with Oriental panels, just folded and on a shelf. Good luck, Cindy

Very nice - does he do this free hand? I am learning now how to fmq on my longarm and its really fun. His quilting is awesome and it inspires me to keep practicing.

Yes, all free hand. Boggles my mind as I'm still learning myself how to do free motion....he just moves the machine...and there's the design.

So elegant. So many beautiful quilts are quilted so much it is hard to see the beauty and they look so stiff. Yours is so soft.
