I just bought the Janome MC 11,000 SE and I haven't even began to learn how to use it. I've just been using utility stitches mainly.

I went to the "Janome Event" at my local store yesterday and came home with a cute embroidered tote bag. It was fun, they took film and said I might be on the Janome site next Friday.

If I was to buy the new machine I would get back almost everything I paid for the 11,000 in August.

Do you think there is that much change, and is it worth that much money?

I'm thinking the only way to justify it is if I do embroidery for people, and earn some money.

Also, do you think it is worthwhile to upgrade to VS. 3.0 on my 11,000 SE? The store I bought it from will let me buy it for $199.00 because they have given me terrible support since I bought the machine, and I was told it would be on the machine when I bought it.

Once reason I'd really love to buy the new one is to have local support, unlimited lessons on it, etc. The only reason I bought it from CA, sewingmachinesplus, is because they had 5 yr. interest free financing. I am very, very disappointed in their communication with me, and actually think they are dishonest.

I also have the 11000 se when the 12000 came out I wanted to upgrade but dealer would only give half so I din`t I don`t know about the 15000 but the 12 has much better lighting. bigger hoop bigger stitching I would love to be able to quilt using embroidery quilt design about 11 inch sq as most of my sqs are 12 which I can`t do I never use the magna hoop the softwear is much better on the new machines Gale

I got the same story, can only get $2,000 on the brand new $11,000 I just bought to trade on a 12,000.

I played with the 12,000 a little bit yesterday. It's easy to do free motion quilting on it. It does have better lighting. I don't think there is enough change in the software to justify the upgrade.

I got three hoops with my machine. The magna hoop is 7.5" by 10". I think that's a nice size. sewingmachinesplus tried to sell me the little one for $99, not telling me I already have one.

I can buy vs. 3.0 for the 11,000 but I don't know if it is much different. I am hoping some peeps that have Janome machines will chime in.

I am confused! You just purchased the 11000SE so that you can trade it in for the 12000??? What am I missing?

why didn't you just buy the 12000? It has been on the market for 2 years.

My dealer actually loves the 11000SE over the 12000. I hear that it is a great machine. I have the 9700 myself.

had mine a 11/2 before the 12000 came out i talked to rep at grandrapids quilt show and he said to upgrade my digitizer jr would cost 1thousand but told him i was kinda interested in the 12 and he said it had all i wanted with the upgrade so i`m guessing the 15000 would be super Gale

No, I didn't just buy it to trade it in. I didn't know what I was buying, did not realize the 11,000 is an older machine.

I bought the 11000 when I still sewed a lot of crafts. Now I use exactly two things on it. The straight and zigzag stitches. Used the embroidery section - probably 3 times. Embroidery bores me. All I do is quilt now - everything else has gone by the wayside - and this is WAAAAY more machine than I need. When this one dies, I'll go to something simpler. That's what I love about quilting. You don't need "fancy" to quilt!

If you have the 11K you will like the 15K. The 15K is a lot like the 12K but much easier to understand. It has the same hoops as the 12K and sadly no 4x4 or 5x7 hoop but come with the AcuQuilt hoop and SW. I had the 12K but have upgraded to the 15K and really like it. If you buy before the end of Dec. it should come with the iPad. I like ordinary sewing on it and the emb. is great. I have not had time to try the quilting yet but a friend has and said it works great. If you don't care about the AcuQuilt part and can get the 12K for a real deal that would save you $$. To add the AcuQuilt to the 12K it would cost you from $300 to $500 depending on your dealer. I got my 15K for the same price as the 12K and a great trade in. It is really a personal choice but find one of each to try out, then decide. Good luck in your choice.
