I ordered this poster from the Bennington Museum for $20.00 plus $5.00 shipping.

I was hoping it would show more detail than the photos in the Dear Jane book.

It does not.

It has a "soft" look about it and most of the details are not showing.

The quilt on the poster measures about 14-3/4 by 14-3/4 inches.

Overall, I think it was a waste of money because it does not show what I was looking for.

The book's individual photos, while I wish they were larger and would have gone to the "middle of the sashing that is framing each block", show MUCH more detail.

Does anyone know of a web site that shows the blocks of the ORIGINAL quilt up close?

Hi Bear,

So sorry the poster was such a disapointment, especially at that price. I live very close to Bennington and plan on going to the museum when the quilt is back on exhibit. Perhaps I could inquire at the museum for you. They probably will not allow photography but I will find out. Let me know if you would like me to have a little b***hfest at them on your behalf.

I believe photographs of the Stickle quilt are extremely limited and close-ups not permitted at all. Whether this is by request of Brenda Papadakis to protect her huge financial interest in the Dear Jane phenomen she started, I do not know. I'm sure it is also for archival purposes.

I'm sorry you feel the poster was a waste of money. I did find one document that lists the instances of the quilt in print. http://74.125.47.132/search?q=cache:...&ct=clnk&gl=us FF, I trust you will not really cuss out the kind people at the museum in Bennington when you come to visit. :)
