Default Roual Star Quilt cover

I have just finished this Royal Star Doona cover as a wedding present for a young friend. It was the first paper piecing I have ever done, and was determined to try it. I has some trouble understanding the instructions as they didnt make sense in places and emailed the lady who writes books on quilting that had put it on the internet and asked her for some finer details and was rudely replied to that "I am to busy to to videos as I am a working girl you know, look up paper piecing on google." I was shocked because always everyone loves to share their knowledge and help. I got in touch with the local Spotlight store to talk to a quilter and the Manager herself said I dont do paper piecing but bring it down and we will have a look. She herself said the instructions were not very clear but we worked through it and kind of figured it out. I dont know if we done the correct way, but got it to look like the picture on the pattern! It is a very time consuming quilt with lots of pieces but I like is and am glad I stuck it out.

I am sorry you had a bad experience but your quilt turned out to be lovely. I can say that when I contacted Dunster about her pattern as it was the first one I had ever attempted, she was so gracious, kind, and helpful. She even posted pictures here for me when I couldn't figure it out. Maybe the next time you will have an experience as pleasant as mine was. Keep up the good work.

absolutely stunning, good job and well done working it out. You should give yourself a pat on the back, if I had done I would be very proud of a job well done
