Hi Gang,
Just thought I would let all you know, there is a rare very old Singer Featherweight with all the chrome and scroll faceplate and the really weird lower thread guide for the bobbin winder on shop goodwill right now. 3 hrs left and its at $240. Still a very good price for a machine of this quality and year.
Serial puts it at 1933. Which would be the first year they came out?

I'm very curious to see how much it goes for. This would have been first run and the condition is amazing. Too bad it doesn't have a Worlds Fair badge on it. That would be something to behold. But this one is pretty darn amazing as it is.

Lets all bid and see how high it will go! Seriously, nice FW but I'm not sure I like the black background--sort of makes the machine hard to see.

This one is rare because its a first run, and it has the lower bobbin winder thread guide. It also looks like its mint. Maybe it was repainted, but if you look at the electrical cord it looks original. Gorgeous machine.

Sometimes I get lucky. I bought one just like that, 1936, for $20 at a garage sale right down the road. It was dirty and the case was very stinky., and the bc had been put in wrong, but no real repairs needed. I found a bargain on a case that didn't smell, and sold it years later for $250. I was sweet, but I never used it....sold it to someone who really wanted one.

The price on that one is unreal. I have 3 and the highest i paid was $275 because it had never been used and had everything with it. I usually pay $100 - not sure why it went to $460 + $60 shipping.

It went high because of the early serial number, excellent condition, chrome details, and lower bobbin thread guide. The foot controllers are interesting as I've seen some really old ones have metal parts on them, not all bakelite.
