    Default Ironing Sprays

I've seen quite a few people mention using sprays for ironing. What brands/types would you all recommend?

Mary Ellen's best press, Niagra spray (non aerosol) or make your own with liquid starch and water. I use StaFlo & water 50/50

I used to be a Niagra girl but switched a while back to the StaFlo liquid and use a 50/50 mix as well. Prefer the results with the StaFlo as well as the price!

I have to shop online most of the time. I priced Best Press and Niagra nonaerosol. I bought a case of 6 bottles of Niagra for the price of 2 bottles of Best Press on Ebay. You might want to check it out.

I love Best Press, but it is quite expensive.

I've recently used Oxford and Wells ironing starch which the manufacturer in Texas intended to sell for ironing shirts not realizing that there was a whole bunch of quilters out there who would love their product. I'm not sure of the price as I was given it as a gift but it definitely smells good and works well. I'd buy this if it were available in Canada (I'd also buy StaFlo or Niagara if it were available too!). I can get Best Press but it is $10 for a small container (it works well but I don't like the price). I've made my own with corn starch and lemon juice but it's not quite the same.

If you are talking about getting out tough wrinkles, I saw a demonstration at a quilt show that used a tablespoon of vinegar and a cup of water in a spray bottle. I LOVE it! It's terrific.

I used to use Best Press but didn't like the way it left fold lines in the fabric. No matter how much I used it was difficult to press out the fold lines. Plus it is expensive.

I now use and really like Magic Sizing Extra Crisp. I couldn't find it locally, so I had to purchase a 6 can box online. But it certainly gets out wrinkles and fold lines.

I am using 1 cup of cheap vodka, 1 cup of water and a dash of Frebreeze for a light scent put it in a spray bottle and go iron. I like Best Press but I would rather spend money on fabric
