Default Thread Painting Stabilizer? Which one?

So, I have some beautiful bird fabric that I want to enhance by thread painting the tails. I just can't seem to get an answer....do I need a stabilizer to do this? If so, what kind? Thanks!

I assume your going to use your domestic machine. You should use stabilizer .. either a tear away or iron on.

I would definitely use a stabilizer. I have seen fabric "thread painted" and most of them use an embroidery hoop to keep the fabric tight like a drum when stitching. Youtube Nancy Prince as she does thread painting. Good luck.

Check through some of these sites on google. One of them is even from this board, lots of great info... and many differing views https://www.google.ca/search?q=what+...D4Dw&gws_rd=cr
