Default free motion quilting on a Pfaff6122

I want to do some simple free motion quilting on my older pfaff 6122. Is that possible? I can lower the feed dogs but the manual says nothing about what foot....should I get a darning foot....where can I order such a foot. Thanks for your help!

Sewing machines plus should have it. And yes you need a darning foot or free motion foot. Same thing different name. Good luck.

Thanks for the sewing machines plus suggestion. I could not determine which foot I needed so I called the LQS where I purchased the machine many years ago ( 20?) but no one was there who could help me. So, I called the shop where I had had it serviced and they not only figured out which foot I needed but they are sending it to me!!!! Not sure if I can mention names on this form but if I can I would be happy to make the recommendation.

It's fine to mention the name of a shop that has helped you out!

I suggest that when you start to practice, why not make some charity quilts for dogs at you local animal shelter or rescue. Use some fabric that you will NEVER use and practice your free motion. It is just like learning anything in life like riding a bike or driving a car. Eventually, it WILL be second nature to do FMQ !!
