Default hexie question

Does anyone on board have the new hexie paper/fab die for the accuquilt GO? I have it and it seems to have very scant seam allowances........so I began to experiment.....have F&P hexie ruler so cut the fabric for the 1" hexie from it..very generous seam allowance.....soooooo I guessing I know how I will be cutting the fabric for rest....btw...the paper cutting end of die I like, but will steer clear of fabric end....JMHO

I would use the paper size on your die to cut smaller fabric hexies and get the Fiskar punch to make the papers.

I have the fiskar large punch...it is good too.....same size as small hexies on GO die..no prob there. The prob seems to be the scantiness of the seam allowance on the fabric end of that die...I measured and it is short 1/8" .....does not sound significant , but when dealing with that much handling, i.e., basting or gluing, sewing...it can be frustrating...but I will work around it...cutting the fab with another template/ruler I have giving me more seam allowance to work with....just wanted others to be aware........

Do you then cut them down to a hexi shape or sew them as is to the paper? I assume we're talking about english paper piecing here right?

I read other reviews that the seam allowance on the Go die for hexies was not big enough.

Glad to know it wasn't " just me". I have read in several EPP books that the seam allowance recommendation is 3/8"....so I measured the die...fab cut against paper cut hexie and the seam allowance on the fab per side is 2/8"--1/4"-scanty at that...then I measured the seam allowance on the template I bought from PaperPieces and the s/a is 3/8"....and that makes a difference....... To me anyway.
