Default Three fabric quilts!

Does anyone have a name of a pattern that only uses three colors? I am making a gift for a lady who's colors are only three in her living space. I would like to make her a quilt, I have the fabrics already, but need a pattern to make.... I got the fabric at a GREAT sale only$2 a yard and have plenty of yardage... !

Rail fence comes to mind. But there are loads of patterns you can adapt to use only 3 colors. Google images of three color quilts, you will be blown away by all that are out there.

Here are my search results

I like modern, big block type of quilts and end up using either Warm Wishes or the original BQ. This is a Warm Wishes pattern I made for a DGD.

And this is a BQ made with the large block that I made for a cousin who is fighting cancer.

Edited to add: The BQ pattern doesn't show borders, but I like borders so I added them. It is a really quick quilt to make, if you don't use a directional fabric for the focus blocks with BQ. I am a slow piecer, but can cut this out in one day and have it ready to sew the blocks together the next day. Unfortunately, that's about my real attention span. All you have to do is see my WIP list to know that is the truth.

I think most of the BQ patterns can be made with 3 or 4 colors.

I use the disappearing nine patch for 3 fabric quilts. I cut the squares 5 inches and that works out well. Good luck.

There are hundreds of older patterns that use 3 fabrics.

I've also done a "turning 20" pattern in just three colors. They always look good.

Ohhhhhhhhhhhh, I love the warm wishes with the larger center strip and the outer strips matching. I'm working on a baby quilt now, and may use that pattern.

BQ & BQ2 uses only three fabric and go together so quickly. I even shrunk the block and made a table runner.

I liked the larger chunks in the middle of the strip blocks, so I modified the pattern slightly. The print blocks are cut at 7" and finish at 6.5" The other blocks, also, finish at 6.5" If I remember right, I cut the small strips to finish at 1" each, which leaves the center chunk as a finished 4.5"

It's an easy quilt, and easy to change up - either upsize or downsize, according to your focus fabric.
