Default Welcoming a baby to the world

My niece and her husband have a foster baby boy who they are hoping they can adopt after a year. (The waiting is a legal issue, otherwise I'm sure the baby would be adopted asap.)

I asked my brother if JoAnne would like a 'Grammy Quilt', which is a quilt made from Mom's UFO's. My sister and I made one for my youngest grandson, and he loved it. My brother said that I should wait to give it to him until he is officially adopted. I agreed, but told him that every baby deserves to be welcomed to the world, so I would make the lucky little boy quilt to use until then. (Yes, I am optimistic!)

Here it is. I thought the backing was minkee, but have been told by those more experienced than me that it is a velour. All in all, it improved the quilt, whether it is minkee or not!

Darling quilt! Yes I am sure the day will come. I have a friend whose niece just went through the same process although the kids (brother/sister) that they adopted are 4 and 9. That day finally came a couple of weeks ago and now they are one happy family!
