Whoa, they are asking too much unless it's gold plated!

I've seen photos of them, never the real deal. I'd love to check one out. Considering that Singer made almost every other model they made in that time period with the crinkle paint, why would it be out of the question for them to have made the FW with that paint too?

He's calling it a Godzilla, not Gorilla, for those who are looking for the listing.

Yes there is a crinkle finish(or godzilla finish) FW. It and the blackside FW are the rarest ones and that price might seem high but it's not out of line for these machines nowadays. I've actually seen a crinkle finish one. There is a little hole in the wall sew/vac shop here that has one of each of the FW flavors up high on a shelf so you can see them but not touch them.

Here I was thinking $250 was more than I wanted to spend for a featherweight. At that rate I would suffer with the glossy finish. That machine will end up with a serious collector who absolutely must have it to complete their collection, not someone who goes to quilt retreats.

In some ways, the term “Gorilla” could be correct.....

If I bought that machine, my checking account would look like a gorilla had went through it with nothing left but a sea of red......

*** I had never heard or seen one, so I thought it may be a hoax.

    I've never seen a 222 in person, let alone a Godzilla 221.
