Default Mens Handkerchiefs

My husband has a large collections of new mens handkerchiefs that he wants to make a quilt out of. I noticed that they are very thin. What should we use for a stabilizer?

Good question. I am not sure if anything is out there that will make the handkerchief into a more quiltable fabric. Are you thinking of a walling hanging?? I wouldn't make anything that might require frequent washings.

I don't know why you couldn't use a light weight fusible interfacing...we use them in clothes I would think they would hold up in a quilt...I've also used a lightweight tricot interfacing called french fuse that might work too.

Yes, try a fusible featherweight interfacing. It'll be fine.

Sure, use a lightweight fusible interfacing. They hold up just fine. I had a whole shoebox of thin ladies embroidered hankies, used them in a couple quilts, now 8-10 years later & I have no idea how many washings the quilts are still lovely without signs of wear. Men's hankies seem a little ( stronger) than the ladies ones, some of which were very see through
