Default featherweight 1949

Look under Pictures from my workshop with Gees Bend Quilters.

I was the only one with a FW, but it sure didn't vibrate like my neighbors Bernina Artista 185 or something like that.

Long story, but I later let someone else use the FW and brought my Janome, as the one they had been loaned, broke down.
I should have had someone take a pic of me sewing on the FW, but I forgot.

I use mine in a class I am taking and they all like the way it sounds. Seems to bring back good memories.

I have resisted so far but I'm starting to want a FW too. Sigh! A couple of the ladies in my guild bring theirs to classes and they're such charming little machines. Not good if you want to be left alone, though - they both end up with people coming over to check out their machines every time! (Our classes are held in a local sewing store that doesn't have a separate classroom, we're just off to the side, so shoppers often pause to see what we're up to, and gravitate to the FW ladies.)

Although if I stick with my cast-iron machines, I'm bound to build up some good biceps...

I bought a featherweight this year and love it for taking to guild quilting sessions. Can't believe that I went all these years without it.

Oh psycho, I looked at this one and thought you had found yourself a FW. Too bad. Keep on looking--don't give up. If you do happen to find one, PM me, and I'll work with you on bargaining for a good price.

I recently bought myself a featherweight. When I brought it home I told my DH he just bought my birthday present...lol. I carry it to our clubhouse twice a week to sew with our Creative Sewing group and I will be taking it north when we go to visit relatives this summer. It sews an awesome stitch and runs sew quiet...I love it. It's a 1948, born the same year as me...
