Default I can leave my project out!

It has been such a joy to leave everything "as is" while working On a project,

My ironong board is up, sewing nachine is out, table does not have to be cleared off for a meal!

Cats are gone now. so I can even leave pieces on the ironing board.

I do miss the cats a lot, though.

No cats and the dogs only go where I go but not in the sewing room. I can just shut the door.

After the last of the kids when off to college, I took over the family room. I leave everything out and clean up and put away when a project is done. My little dog only comes in when he wants to go outside otherwise he is lounging around or sitting on the back of a chair and looking out the window.

My little critter always sits near by and never disturbs anything unless I drop something and then he figures it is his job to instantly become a canine paper weight.

It's my house too, so I leave out whatever I want where ever I want. DH will too. But we know where to draw the line between getting a project finished to having a mess left out. Our dog always wants to be where it's most inconvenient for me. LOL

I love to be able to leave a project out too. I still do pressing in the utility room, but I have converted a bedroom into a sewing room. It's so nice to have the private place. I can just shut the door when someone comes in.

I doubt I would love quilting as much, if I had to pick up my project every day.

I am fortunate, I have an entire large room for my quilting stuff - I always leave things out (maybe too much?)

Since it's in my "Man Cave", Oh wait, my whole house is my "Man Cave", I never have to put a project away. Or that one, or that one, not that one either...
My house is not set up for company. It's setup for when tim gets home, he decides what he wants to work on that evening or day... then he does. My daughter is the only one who visits (every other weekend) and she doesn't mind (she has her own room, the "Daughter Cave"). We spend time watching certain TV shows, making and eating dinner, and talking. Nothing about my "Man Cave" prevents this.
