Default What was I Thinking?

Remember that box of squares that I rooted out? So far I have the star blocks going, bow ties. There was a stack of Aunt Gracie like squares and they said, Dresden Plate to me. I felt really rested last night after a nap earlier so I decided to mess with them. I cut all the squares in half and that gave me 2.5x5 ins strips. I sewed 5 of them together and used one of those little wedge rulers to cut two wedges from each one.

I started to sew these together and the circle got bigger and bigger and I needed more wedges lol. I wasn't paying any attention I guess. Anyway, nice surprise for not planning anything this big. I just wanted a normal Dresden plate. It measures 30 ins across.

I sewed two wedges together, then turned them right sides together and sewed across the top, turned and there you have the poing all finished. Now I will have to think on the middle circle and how to finish the outside lol.

I think it came out really cute. Just find a plate in your cupboard that will cover the center and use that as a template. Going to be a cute table topper. I LOVE it. Job well done.

I can see how that could be adapted for a Christmas decoration!

Very cool!
