New Baby
I brought this new baby home today and it is wonderful. I was oiling her and found the gears are metal, but my manual that came with it doesn't say anything about the gears, if they need oil or grease or anything. So does someone know if I need to oil or grease the gears? It looks like it has never ever had grease on them so was wondering. There are a lot of places to oil this machine and I will finish it up tomorrow.
It sounds wonderful and is so smooth. I am sure I am going to love it. Came with the manual and all accessories including the tin with the cams. I am a happy camper. Thank you

Metal gears get grease generally. A light synthetic, Singer lube, or vaseline all work. Nova Montgomery sells a grease that is formulated like the old Singer motor lube too.
Great looking machine!

Can you post a picture of your machine and a cam on "The Cam Thread" here please? I'm trying to get a picture database built up of the various machines and the cams they use to help people find the right cams for their machines when they need them.
Thanks,
Rodney

Congrats, I just sold this exact model to a woman that is starting a beginners sewing class for young home schoolers! She loved it and is hoping the girls will like learning on vintage machines. You will love this machine. No fuss no muss, she sews through anything that you can get under the foot with nice stitches.
