Default Folding quilt ruler

Have any of you tried this: http://www.nancysnotions.com/product/fold+away+ruler.do ? I thought it might be fun to have to take to class -- if it works.

I have one and really like it. Works great when taking it to class - not so likely to get broken from sticking out.

Wonder what holds the two parts together? Something like a clear packing tape?

The concept looks great though I am like many others ... it looks like it might be "fragile" with however it is joined at the fold and wonder about its lasting ability.

Another concern to me, would be whether it is solid/stable at the fold when running the rotary cutter along the edge. Or perhaps whether that process would eventually weaken the joint and cause it to loosen, or eventually come apart?

Would you please tell us more about your experience with this?
Perhaps even, some close up photos.

Even for at home, for some, this would help deal with a ruler storage issue.

I have a bias ruler that folds. It works great. No problem with the join getting loose or weak so far but I don't use it a lot. I guess the same join would be on this ruler too. I would use this larger ruler for taking to classes and such and not use it for all my cutting at home.

I would be concern with safety since you are using a rotary cutter with it.
