I've been a "reader" for several months, but when I saw the note about a woman's DH using her machine, I just HAD to tell my story.

My DH needed his shirt fixed, so off to my sewing studio he went. He even met with some marginal success and he couldn't wait to tell me about it. I just smiled, went into his workshop and turned on the first electrical tool that I found. He came running at light speed... I smiled and said, "you keep away from my machines and I'll keep away from yours". It's worked for years!!! Gomeyer

Welcome from Maine. I had to learn to use power tools after my huband's death, but before that I did not tread on his garage or workshop. You taught him a lesson the easy way.

Welcome, I'm new too (less than a week) LOVE the stories and ideas here!!

Too Funny...my ex tried that once or twice...computer embroidery machine confuzzeled him too much.

Now that I'm single again and a BIG HGTV/DIY fan I recently purchased a great set of battery powered Tools/Toys...wish a few of my sewing toys could be cordless too!!

    :P

Welcome from Southern California. I laugh cause a lot of the "tools" out in the garage are mine. Though, I did buy him the scroll saw for Christmas about 10 years ago. I have put tons of mileage on it, he's turned it on, maybe 3 times! He has no idea how to use half of them!!

Welcome from Illinois! Loved your story. I don't think my DH has ever tried to sew anthing, but he has helped me once or twice figure out how to get a bobbin casing back in the machine, and I've helped him with a few a few times with sawing, sanding, and wiring. But I otherwise leave his tools alone.
