Default Do you make Tshirt Quilts? How much do you charge?

A tennis friend of mine wants a tshirt quilt made. How much do you charge for a twin size bed tshirt quilt from start to finish? Will you do it for her? I don't think I want to do this myself.

I don't do tee shirt quilts but members of my guild do and charge $350 for a twin size/throw.

Really depends on what you want, there is a company (Project Repat) that does a very basic, sew the squares, back with fleece, no quilting, for around $100. The prices really vary. Make sure you see pictures of the work the person has done so you know what to expect.
I do basic ones for the seniors at church and don't charge for my time (church buys the fleece for back). They are actually pretty easy to do, if you want to attempt it yourself.

Thanks, She's going to do it herself with my guidance. Should be fun.

For a twin $250.this is just for labor..this includes ironing on pellon, squaring blocks from t-shirts, adding shashing & cornerstone, quilting and handbinding...They also must provide fabric for shashing, backing and binding, pellon and batting. If I have to provide fabric it is $100. more.

The going rate around here is $25 per tee shirt. That includes the backing, batting, quilting and binding. Everything except the tee shirts.

I don't do them any more. They are just so heavy to handle.

Count the hours you put into it and charge $10 per hour, plus cost of any materials. For me, this turned out to be about $350. It depends on size and how elaborate the person wants it. You might also take the person shopping for the materials and have him/her pay.

Thanks ladies, I sat down and showed my friend Sara the steps that need to be done to make the quilt and she's decided to do it herself. I have another friend coming down for a few days to learn how to do raw edge applique and two other friends coming over to sew on those days so its going to be a sewing hen party. I have three machines so everyone will be accommodated. I think its the start of a teaching career for me!

I've made 4 t-shirt quilts for my 4 grand-daughters. No one could pay me to make another one.
