I'd like to do a simple wall hanging as a wedding gift ....don't know her colors or room decor. It has to be SIMPLE and QUICK.

I've googled images and websites but can't decide what to do. Everything seems too difficult and/or time-consuming.

I'd appreciate some ideas and guidance. Thank you.

I once did one for a couple I didn't know well. I did a machine embroidery of a bride and groom on off white satin. I added applique flowers (the ones you bou to add on to clothes and wedding dresses). On the top I did an arc with ribbons, held at the very center by two plastic little doves and at the end of each ribbon, a little plastic wedding ring. I added their names and wedding date at the bottom. It took me about 4 hours to make including the machine embroidery time, and the only bad part was that I didn't take a picture of it.

Thanks Maria for your idea. Unfortunately,I just have a straightforward sewing machine. Santa may have an embroidery machine for me come Christmas. I'm hoping!

Your project sounded wonderful...too bad you didn't get a pic...I would love to have seen it.

When is the wedding?

Maybe a Christmas, nuetral colors earthtone table runner , placemats or etc.

They will probably get use of that to set up their new table. Just a thought.

I too thought Maria's idea was great! Since you don't have embroidery options - what about apliquing a silhouette?

I would also suggest adding a pocket, where they can tuck cards given to them. Or, do a very wide border, and have people write wishes on the fabric (would have to stabilize).

Thanks , grammatjr. You are so kind and helpful to take the time to post those links. I like the silhouette on the first website you posted.

This pattern is called wedding ring. You can probably make it bigger or make several.
