Default DH is so sweet...Compac sewing machine

My DH found this sewing machine today at the flea market and bought it for me because he thought it was an off brand Featherweight. Glad he was thinking about me, now I just need to show him what a Featherweight actually looks like. The picture is not mine (borrowed from ebay) but identical. I googled this brand and got a couple of hits for QB of people that have this machine. If anyone that has one is still around, and has a manual I would love to get a copy. The machine seems to sew great, only real issue, which I think will be easy to fix after I visit Sew Classic, is the little spring thing that holds the slide plate in place. Mine is broken so the slide plate wants to slide off while I am sewing.

Do you have one of these?

What a cute little machine! I don't have one but will be following this thread to learn about it.

Wh does it weigh? Is it iron or aluminum? Is it 3/4 size? What does the bobbin area look like?

Check out youtube; put the machine name in the search engine; search out antique sewing machines even on FaceBook. There are lots and lots of Featherweight machines that are working and go to quilt classes everywhere. There are 3 in my small quilting group in Dickson Tennessee. There are web sites that have machine Manuals... maybe even one for your machine. Have fun with your machine.
