So here is my pig wall quilt top that's going to DH for Christmas...I'm pretty happy with the way it looks so far (just don't look too closely!). It is much straighter than it looks in the picture.

I'm ready to assemble and quilt it, but I'm not sure how I want to quilt it. I need something easy...I was thinking about maybe outline quilting around the diamonds and stitching in the ditch around the pigs behind bars. Would that be enough quilting? This is my third quilt so I'm not very experienced. I don't know if it matters but I have 100% cotton batting. And if I do that would I change thread colors for each diamond, or just use the same color through the whole thing?

Oh, and can I use polyester (Guetermanns) thread for quilting it? That's what I used to piece it all together, though I think maybe I was supposed to use cotton thread.

Stitch in the ditch will be good to anchor it all down and then I would do some curved quilting to soften up the straight lines. Gutermann poly is excellent thread. You don't have to use cotton thread unless you want to.

I love it :D :D :D The card trick blocks really frame in the piggys nicely!!! DH is going to love his quilt :D :D :D

You know, when you were worried about the bars? I think it looks awesome with them off set this way!!! The way it breaks up the pig fabric, it gives that area much more interest!!! 8)

If I did curly pig tails, where would I do them? Over the pig area, or over the card trick blocks, or ??? I am not sure I am a coordinated enough seamstress to do a bunch of curved lines on a quilt!
