Default 2 finishes: A Wedding Gift and a DD Gift

My DD got married last January here in PA and with all the wedding preparations I was not able to finish any quilts until after the big event. In April we delivered the quilts to the happy couple in Oklahoma. The big quilt was a surprise and the second quilt was one that was promised to my DD when she was single.

With much fanfare, I presented my DD with her bargello quilt first. Her excitement was overwhelming! Wouldn't that make any momma happy?

Then, my husband and I presented the queen sized quilt to the two of them. My DD loves purple, her husband not so much. Once he got a look at the fleece backing, he was a happy camper! Star Wars movies are his favorite, and he was head over heels with "His" side of the quilt. This is what they do: When the purple sheets are on the bed, the pieced side is up. When the blue sheets are on the bed, the Star Wars fleece side is up.

The pattern is simply hourglass blocks with sashing and cornerstones. The fabric used was Lovely by Debbie Beaves.

Thanks for looking!

Both of the quilts are outstanding! She looks so happy. You are right, what could be better than that?

Well worth the wait. You can just feel how much she loves her quilt. You sure do good work. BrendaK

Both are lovely! And I love the solution for making a quilt that they both enjoy!

Beautiful quilts and good surprise for both of them! This hour glass one with sashing is a great idea!
