Default AccuQuilt

I had been thinking about purchasing a couple of the storage units for my AccuQuilt dies and kept putting it off. While in Walmart yesterday I went down the office supply aisle and guess what I found? And for $4.95 each!! I bought one to see if it worked and it was perfect. So I’m going to get a few more. It would also work with rulers. It’s called “large desk sorter” with 10 tiers.

I use the plastic coated one from Walmart for dishes. It's about $5. You can use two of the rack side by side to hold the long dies and mats.

I ordered the one from Accuquilt because I wanted to get over the $99.00 threshold for free shipping and I was concerned on how sturdy it needed to be to hold them (after all the dies are pretty heavy) and they were on sale. Anyway, after I got it my daughter was cleaning out her work area and was getting ready to throw away a sorter she had - it was almost identical as the one from Accuquilt. So when I need another one - I will be going local instead of ordering on-line.

Try Harbor Frieght. They probably have something.

Love those for storage! I have one of the long ones from AQ that is stored in a tall hamper. It keeps them neat and tidy. Questions: Do you keep the plastic wrappers on the dies? I can't decide if they should come off or not.

I use these too. I did invest in some wall mounted similar racks that I found at an office supply store to put my long strip dies on.

Yes, keep those plastic wrappers on. If you discover that you have too many dies and would like to sell some, which I did on eBay, the wrapper says you have never used it. Also, don't take that little white tag on the side off. That is so handy when hunting for a specific die.

Besides the office supply section of Walmart, try the housewares. There are vertical racks there too. Or, I've glad kluck at resale shops! I keep the plastic on them until it starts to break at the seam or somehow rip...I also add on that little side label-A,B,C,D...which is corresponding to size of dies and what shelf they live on in my repurposed tv entertainment center! And the inventory sheets, so I know where each is when I need it......

I keep some of the dies in the plastic and hang them from pegboard hooks. I also have sorters that I use for the dies for my current project -- I found mine at a thrift store. Paying for and managing the dies is the hardest part of using the AQ -- I try to buy dies only when they are reduced 50%.
