    Default Kenmore 158-18022

Is this machine a high shank machine or a super high shank machine. The label on the back of the machine said "Sears Best". I just purchased this machine for $10 with no accessories. Any information about this machine would be greatly appreciated.

Can you find the model number? It may be that you will have to open the table to access where that is, but you'll be able to find the answer more easily once you find the model number.

I have a 148, and it looks the same. Mine is a low shank, and it uses any low shank foot. It is a great machine. I got mine in the early 70's. It sat up in my daughter's attic for 7 years, and with a little oil, it still runs well.

I can see the little lever that holds the presser foot on. That makes it a super high shank.

Isn't it supposed to have cams that fit in the top compartment?

Do an internet search for Nifty Thrifty Girl going a demo of this machine. Search for Kenmore 1802. Do not use all the numbers on the plate.
