Default Joining strips for multiple strip border

I need to join border strips to achieve the proper length for borders. I want to add a multiple fabric border as a strip set (rather than sewing each border on individually) and plan to miter the corners of the quilt border. My question is: do I create the strip sets and then join them (using a diagonal seam) to get the proper length - or - should I join the individual strips (also using a diagonal seam) and then create the strip set (if so - do I match the diagonal seams from each strip, or stagger them) ?

Interested in anyone's opinion - or experience with either method!!

I would create the strip sets first, that way you're only having to miter 4 corners, not 4 times the number of border strips you're adding. And I would stagger the diagonal seams to avoid build-up.

agreed. make your individual strips first. do not line up the joins.

I agree with Peckish, I like using diagonal seams for all my sashings and borders.

One way I've done this is to use a corner block that has the mitered part,
