Hey quilters -- does anyone use those Silicone Iron Rests? Joanne has them on sale right now for around $8 BUT our Hancock fabrics had them for 25 CENTS -- that's right a mere quarter. I asked the gal if they were safe if your iron sat on it for long periods of time and she said they sure were. Why did I buy 8? Because our guild puts together goody bags that we use for monthly fun raisers. She puts in things like small notions, FQs, patterns and such. They are going to be so happy to see these in their bags this month!

I've had mine for several years and it's still in good shape.

Great find. What are they? What are they used for? This is probably a really dumb question but I've never heard of them.

They are shaped like the bottom of your iron. Made of heavy silicone to withstand high heat. You may have seen silicone oven mitts or the thinner sheets for your oven. When you are pressing a lot of pieces you can just rest your iron on the mat. I haven't tried it yet but others seem to think it's great so it's worth a try for a quarter.

Our Hancocks closed years ago, darn it. I would love to have one of those! Guess I will have to use a coupon at JA's.
