Kay Carlson and Lisa T Meet!
#1
I got to meet a fellow board member this weekend! Kay was SO nice and I was grinning all day after meeting her. My mom also got to meet her and she enjoyed it too.
My mom and I helped put on a quilt show this weekend in my former home town and Kay came to see the quilts (and to meet me, of course!). I will post pics of the show under another thread. It was held in an old Victorian home so the house itself was worth seeing.

Lisa graciously told me that I could post the picture first because I had the faster internet service. It was her quilt and her family so I thought it was more appropriate for her to post the picture. :-)
The strawberry shortcake festival was yummy. I brought containers and took some home for DH to share with me:-)
By my size in the picture, I didn't need any more calories!
Gosh, I've got to start walking on the treadmill first thing tomorrow morning. Please hold me to that statement?!
Enough about me... I had the pleasure of meeting Lisa, her mother and other friends. The group was so welcoming and Lisa gave me a personal tour of the 60+ quilts on display.
If they have another show next year, it is a must for anyone within an easy driving distance to attend.
Lisa was very knowledgeable about the quilts from design to
history of each particular item. Please be on the lookout for her next thread on the show.
My oh my, her quilts and those made by her mother are absolutely outstanding. Mom's embroidered quilt given to Lisa for her wedding is a treasure. My favorite colors are blue and white so I especially wanted to wisk away another large quilt her mom had made. Lisa's Cherry Surprise is even prettier in person, and we all know how beautiful it is in the pictures she had posted before the show!!!! Also, Lisa is working on another quilt which she is embellishing.
Ahhhhh, such talent and lovely people .....
I floated back to my car and got my land bearings before driving home. Lisa, thank you for inviting me to the quilt show. It was a pleasure to meet you and a blessing to call you my friend. Hugs....
