Why is it that some posts don't say "new topic" whenever they're generated?
How do some topics stay perpetually near the top? Even though there are many below that have more viewers?

I think I can answer 2 of you question:
The topics at the top are usually the ones with the most recent response posted. Doesn't seem related to how many times it was viewed but the last post...clear as mud huh ;)
And....the chicken crossed the road because there was a LQS having a 1/2 price sale.... :D

I don't actually know the answer to that, but it seems to me that they show up on the list because someone responded to it.
I know I stupidly congratulated a new mother 3 months after she had the baby because I didn't note the date she posted! :oops:
