I started this quilt today called Faceted Jewels. I saw it on an Amish quilt site and loved it. I didn't find a pattern on it so I figured it up myself then someone pointed out that it is two different blocks instead of large blocks and sashing like I thought it was. I'm doing it my way. :D

I'm trying out the first block and good thing I did. I based it on 4" finished size for the small blocks but I'm using a Cappuccino Balipop and, like I've read here, the consistency of the cut strips is not good. I did the first 4-patch block and found that it is not even close to being 4 1/2" unfinished size so, I adjusted everything to 4" unfinished. The small flying geese and the large triangle block are paper pieced.

Just love seeing the block come together for the first time.

I love to start new projects too. I think I am going to start 5 here in a few minutes. Have the fabrics all picked out and going to start pressing and cutting.

Ooh this is gorgeous. It reminds me of a beautiful and intricate wood floor, something you'd see inside a church or something. Post pictures when you finish!! :)
