My husband is a huge Civil War buff, so I made this quilt for him out of Civil War reproduction fabrics. The pattern is called "a soldier quilt" which is appropriate for my husband, who is retired Army. In the center of the middle square I put his initials. In the middle of the other squares I put Civil War quotes. My husband loves the quilt and even though he is 6'4" he tries to snuggle under it.

URR?? something round robin, maybe? I have no idea what it is, so I could not tell you if I would want to participate!! Help me out here?!

Supposedly an "underground railroad"...
there was an underground railroad
there were not 'signals using quilts'....

but it makes a nice story, and a very nice quilt when done

Thanks, Janeen, I think I will participate. I have a ton of Civil War reproduction fabrics and this would be a great way to use some of them up...

Marcia, that's a great quilt! I really like the pattern and the muted colours. Wonderful!
