Need help with wallhanging - compostion question

I vote for black binding with everything else the same. I like the idea of dates on the back. Or dates on a different hanging below the sillouette. Out of metal would be nice. Your parents will be thrilled.

I would use a black binding and embroider their first names on one line and then 40th Anniversary under that in a script font in red I would put this right under the silhouette figures. I used to do engraving for a jewelry store and did a lot of that sort of thing for picture frames.

I love it! Very impressive pinwheels too! I'd use black binding, definitely.
I like Mamagus' idea about the head silliouttes, HOWEVER, you'd have to put them on very precisely or it could be in danger of being overwhelmed by black objects.
They will love it just as it is and it's very creative. Your mom is going to love it and will love seeing your unique creativity. She'll be very proud.

The wall hanging is just lovely and such a wonderful gift to a "quilter mom". I vote with black binding, too, and would embroider their wedding dates. (I don't know exactly where and would probably make a template and move it around until it looked "right".)
