So I wanted to make a quilt for my Nana and Lisa (jbsstrawberry) and Janet (dreamxer) both sent me lovelies to work with because I was having trouble finding what I wanted. I was going to do a patchy buttercup block like in the BOM's but felt it wouldn't showcase the pretty fabrics enough. Soooo since Nana loves all things oriental I found this pattern on the cache and a light came down over it and there was a choir singing and everything. So this is the first block. I'm so excited! Woman (my mommy) even had a great idea last night to quilt it with gold thread to give it that extra bit of orient look. SO here is block numero uno!!

Beautiful!
Is it paper-pieced?

How beautiful! The choir was singing? You know that's a good sign! How much focal fabric does each block need? I may have something you could use. I love Oriental fabric too!
