My niece and my daughter (16 & 15) picked out a purse pattern last week while we were on our local shop hop. My niece said they now just needed to figure out how they were going to sew them. I knew Santa had brought her a swing machine several years back. I asked what had happened to it. "She said that possessed thing! It won't sew anything it just throws needles at us." She said last she knew it was at my SILs house (her other aunt). Well, I got the machine today. It is a Singer Prelude. It was new when she got it. I cleaned it up, rethreaded it and turned the wheel to bring the bobbin thread up and found the problem. I guess my niece is a believer of more is better. She had the tension set on NINE!! I backed it down to 2 and it sews like a charm! I'm guessing next week we will be having purse class at my house.

Oh what fun you will have! Doesn't it feel good to solve a problem all on your own?
