A friend showed me how to make these years ago but she called them thumb pincushions. I just finished making a bunch of them the other night. I sew them and then bring them downstairs to turn, stuff, and close up. They are a great project to work on while watching tv or listening to my dh play his guitar. They make great stocking stuffers for your sewing/quilting friends.
