Thanks everyone for your input on which applique method to use.
I decided on the straight stitch raw edge so it will have a nice fraying (curling leaf) look when washed.

I just finished appliquing the leaves and completing the center block design.
No I just have to get the backing ready & I'm shipping it off to Charisma to be quilted!
I'm really excited to see what she will do with it!! :D

Very beautiful. Your applique leaves are gorgeous and I love the leaves piled at the base of your tree. Can't wait to see it quilted. Thanks for sharing.
